Northern Ireland

Show or Hide Full Text

Northern Ireland has two main heritage railways and two museums - all well worth a visit.

The Foyle Valley Railway Museum demonstrated the railway history of the area around Londonderry and includes a recreated station platform with all the artefacts you would have encountered. This is perfectly complemented by the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.

Be sure to visit the standard gauge railway at Downpatrick, and also the narrow gauge Giants Causeway and Bushmills Narrow gauge Railway.
